Dibajj’s story begins in the 1950s, with a woman whose hands shaped the foundation of our brand long before it had a name.
Our grandmother began her journey by raising mulberry silkworms, carefully nurturing them and selling their cocoons to merchants, who would transform them into silk threads. She always understood the value of silk and the discipline behind its craft, and she did not want her role to end at the cocoon. She decided to own the full journey, from cocoon to thread to finished piece. Patiently, she collected each cocoon, cleaned and prepared it, then spun the silk threads herself. With dedication and skill, she crocheted the silk by hand into exquisite scarves, each one unique, each one carrying weeks of care, craftsmanship, and intention.
Later, our aunts continued the process, keeping the tradition alive and protecting. Today, we continue this legacy with a modern look and a clear vision, while staying rooted in the same love, patience, and respect for silk that started it all.
